25-06 without a single doubt. It will do anything the 243 will, but only better. The nice thing about the 25-06 is that if the need ever arises, you have a gun capable of taking Mule Deer and Elk. For your varmit needs, the 75 gr bullets out of the 25-06 will make for a more capable varmit rig than the 243.
Besides, most women I know shoot the 243!
