SiCo flash hider

I have 2 SiCo muzzle brakes that I use on rifles that I only run suppressed. I have another rifle that I would like to shoot suppressed sometimes but it will primarily be left without a suppressor. So I am thinking about getting a SiCo flash hider for this rifle instead of another muzzle brake. Would there be any issues or would this cause more stress on my suppressor? I have heard that using a flash hider may cause more wear on the baffles and I just don't want to hurt anything. My suppressor is a Spec war 762. Thanks

I have a flash hider on my AR along with an Omega and I haven't had any issues. Many suppressors run just direct thread onto the barrel with nothing else on the end. If it damages it, then it's not right to begin with.

Brake mounts help decrease the wear acting as extra baffles, but the protection won't be that noticeable compared to using direct thread or a flash hider mount. Brake mounts are crucial if shooting a short barrel, but otherwise you will be fine with whichever attachment you choose.

I appreciate the responses. Just wondering roky why is it more crucial to have a muzzle brake on the shorter barrels? Do you mean 16" or really short barrels? Thanks again!

I'm referring to SBRs. I'm using either 1/2x28 or 5/8x24 direct thread mounts on my SilencerCo Omega for all my rifles (16"-22"), but using a brake mount on my 11.5" .223 AR. The added muzzle blast from an SBR will ruin a blast baffle pretty quick.
