Sidearms--Who here carries a pistol while predator hunting, and what kind?

I carry one of these on each hip

Just kidding I always take my Glock 22, the 40 is a very good round if you need a finishing shot or want to have some fun at an armadillos expense.

I am commisioned and carry everyday, a stainless Kimber pro carry II 45. But when I go hunting, in most cases, I am just too dang lazy, I just carry the rifle.
When I go shoot at local pits etc, I always carry, concealed, it seems like a good place for a "gangsta" to look for easy to steal guns. At the range I use, the range officer is a close friend, 20 years Marine Sgt. 25 years Sgt. local PD. (where I work) he carries a 45, and an attitude. I feel real safe there!! Larry is about 5'7" 140 lbs. he worked Graveyard cause he liked the action, adrenalin, I've seen that little guy cuff and stuff major big dudes in a flash.
I worry more about "two legged skunks" than anything else.

I have a Glock Model 36 in .45 ACP for my concealed carry gun. I deer hunt with a Ruger .44 mag. My little Glock goes with me about everywhere. I did kill a deer with a 500 Mag. on video a couple years back. It was nasty!

I am not of age yet to carry concealed, later this year after I turn 21 I will have it.

I bought a Springfield 1911 in 45 acp last year. I bought it because I love the 1911 design and because it can be loaded hot for hunting purposes. Shortly after I bought the pistol I started casting my own bullets, big suprise there seein I love shooting but go to college full time, saves me alot of money.

I cast a 260gr RNFP and load them close to 850fps. When I carry it in the field I carry in a drop leg holster, worked out well for bear hunting this past fall, took my bow as a primary, got skunked though. I have carried a few times in my deer stand and on coyote hunts but I have my AR-15 so this 45 doesnt come out of the holster.

After a friend destroyed a prime coyote a few weeks back I have been carring my Ruger 22/45 or my single six. I had the dog around the top jaw with a rope so he wasnt going anywhere unless he decided to climb up my leg. My buddy was videoing the situation and I guess he had seen enough of the wrestling match and ended it. A 204 with a 40 grain Vmax is tough on hides at 10 feet. Anyway the 22 will finish off the coyotes quite well and they shoot pretty well to 50yards or less with no big exits to sew up.

I carry a Ruger Single Six in 22 mag. Used to have a couple 44s. One Redhawk and a Super Blackhawk Hunter. Great sidearms, but a little too big and heavy for carry. (both were scoped). Been looking at the Charter Arms Bulldog in 44 Special. Just can't bring myself to dip into the rifle fund for one.

I cary a Taurus 941 22mag and a Ruger Single Six in 22 Mag .The Taurus is equipped with a 4" barrel ,8 shots, and is very lite . It is very accurate but the sights adjust crudly and vibrate loose . I finally supeglued the screws .The single six is a single six ; when I need to carry a single action this is it .Great handling and very accurate .
