I switched from Speer to Sierra BK's and haven't looked back. I shoot the 50gr in .223 and 55gr in 22-250 (Ol'Death Wind). Because of their shape I'm a hair over the listed OAL but, I don't have any trouble cycling them out of the magazine in a Savage.
Any hits in the chest turns coyotes to jello on the inside with no exit. You do NOT want to carry them out over your shoulder. I've had one splash on a hip shot but, he didn't feel like going far.
From the suggestion of another member I picked up some Sierra BTHP in 55gr to give them a try on coyotes. No reults yet.
BTs on P'dogs turns them inside out. Any misses (who does that) seem to distruct on impact with dirt or corn stalks.
I have not used the V-Max so I have no compairison.
