I'm looking for a scope for my recently purchased AR and these two grabbed my attention. I'm on a budget if you didn't notice from the 2 scopes I listed. The sightron is quite a bit cheaper, but I have heard good things about both. Which one would you guys choose if you had to and why? Thanks for the input.

Just bought 2 of the sightron si rimfire scopes not to long ago and they are excellent for the price. I have read they have one of the best warrantys also.

Chase, Go to Nikonhunting.com, check out our brand new P-223 line of scopes. Built on the PROSTAFF platform this series will do everything you want it to do and it retail's for under $200. We have new P-223 2 piece mount's as well, less then $50! I just got home from the Shot Show in Vegas and our new P-series of AR Scopes was a huge hit.
Let me know what you think.

Chase, Check out the below link for the Buckmaster 4.5-14 Mildot Reticle. For an easier way to use bullet drop compensation, have you looked at Nikon's BDC reticle? You can go into Spot On Ballistic Program and enter your scope, cal and ammo to get exact distances for the corresponding BDC circles on your scope. Myself and some others took a group of guys 18 months ago to Mo. to let them try the BDC reticle out. They were hitting 4 inch jars of Tannerite at 600 yards. All that using Spot On and stock rifles. Here's the link for one of Nikon's Mildot Scopes that might work for you.

stay away from the nikon 223 scopes the turrets on them turn all of the time lots of guys on here that are not very happy with them

My Sightron SI 3-9x40 hhr is better than my buddy's Nikon Prostaff3-9x40 bdc. To be fair, I have not tested the *new* Prostaff model.

I own a Sightron but not that particular model. I was a little hesitant at first to buy it because it is not as well known as some of the other big names in optics but so far I have been very impressed with it. If you can, look through both of them side by side in low light and see which one you like best.
