Well I do have a VX-3, and a Conquest, both 4.5-14, and did make a comparison when I got the Leupold last year. Conquest is bigger and heavier. Has a wider field of view, as I looked at the same area, back and forth between scopes repeatedly. Without a doubt brighter and clearer to my eye. I would not turn down a good deal on another Conquest if I needed one.
However, that particular scope is back at the factory for warranty work as the poi changed as the scope was zoomed. It's been there for 2.5 months so far. I will also get target turrets put on it while it's there. If the Leupold had that problem it would have been back in 2 weeks probably. So there's trade-offs to everything, neither scope is perfect but they are both pretty darn good for what I paid for them.
I also have a Conquest 6.5-20 with target turrets. Right now it's my favorite scope, and it does not have the poi change problem the other one had. The turrets return the poi to zero perfectly as I dial it up and down, and it's also very bright and clear. That's all I ask of or need from it.
I have no experiences with anything from Sightron so can't comment on them.
