Which scope to pick?? I have been looking alot, and narrowed it down to Redfield Illuminator 3-10x50, Sightron 3.5-10x50, and the Mueller 4-16x50 red dot reticle, Wiich scope will do the best for Coyotes, and still p-dogs/summer plinking?? Its goin on my 204. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Sightron, hands down.

Redfield = Weaver, and while they are very fine scopes, they just don't have the glass that Sightrons do (I assume, of course, that you're talking about an SII or an SII; I wouldn't take an SI over much of anything).

The Muellers are good, from what I hear, but have never used one.

I have used the Sightrons, and they are excellent.

Ive had the pleasure of shooting with a sightron scope on several occasions. Talk about nice optics! This one in particular was a 6x24 and Im thinkin you could read a gnats drivers license at 200 with it. There was another brand, I think it was Eagle Eye that was featured in predator extreme this month(Be sceptical, it might have been written under contract) but they offer a litany of scopes at what seems to me to be a good deal. Best of luck to you.

I have a Sightron 4-16x42 Mil-Dot on my .204 AR and a Mueller 8.5-25 Mil-Dot on my Savage .204. The Sightron is way above the Mueller but it also cost three times the Mueller.
If I ever buy another scope, it definately will be a Sightron.

Any of you guys have any info on Swift scopes?? Been looking at the Premier model in 3-9 X 40. How do they compare to Sightron??
Thanks, kevlars

Youcouldn't beat me into submission and make me take a REDFIELD. Been there, done that, and won't be guilty of it again. Randy Reeves

Kevlars;

I currently have 2 Swift scopes, a 4.5-14x44AO, mil-dot, on a .221 Fireball, and a 6-18x44AO, mil-dot, on a .22-250.

So far, so good. Haven't had an opportunity to really field test them yet, but the initial impressions are certainly favorable. I put them well about the Sightron SIs, behind the SIIIs, and maybe about equal to the SIIs, but I haven't had the chance to test their lowlight, haze, glare condition performance yet.

However, for about 1/2 the price, well...

Kevlars

I just recived a Swift 2x7x40 and am going to mount it tonight. Just looking through it it is very clear, better that my 2x10 Weaver and the FOV is incredible.

Don't know about it being a 'good' deal, but it sounds like a
fair deal if it is new. My 4-16x42 Mil-Dot was priced at $440 at the time I won it.

dont know about redfields, but i have a sightron and 2 muellers.
the sightron II is by far a better scope than the muellers , but like stated it cost way more. it is super clear and well built.
the muellers on the other hand are awsome for the price. both mine have ill. dots. 3-10x44 and 8.5-25x50. the latter i have on my savage hmr so i can see holes in paper at 100 yds.

$244 for an SII 3-12x50? If it's an AO, it's a great deal, if it's non AO, it's still pretty good.

Get it, you won't regret it.
