I am thinking on getting a GG&G Scout Rail for a AR-15
And was wondering if Signature Zee Rings will they
work/fit /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
if they will what height of rings would you use for comfort /good site plain /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I mounted this Leupold with the extra high 30mm rings and it works fine for me. I set this gun up mostly for shooting prone so having the rail extended out over the handguard helped me get the scope further forward.

I would say yes. I used the following GG&G rail. which appears to be almost the same except this one's a little more contoured to visually fit the upper better, and has a 3" extension vs: the 2" extension on the scout rail.

The Burris Sig. Zee Rings worked fine for me. You've got to let the height of 1.50" above the rail of the UPPER to the crosshairs determine what height rings to get. The rail I used, and linked above, added .50" above the rail on the UPPER. I used med. height Signature Zee Rings, and got the exact 1.50" from the rail on the UPPER to the crosshairs, however I had a 30mm tube.

Just go to the Burris site, and look at their chart, giving the dimensions of their rings. Just work it out with pencil and paper till you get to the 1.50" dimension. Just remember additional height of riser / extension + ring height should add up to 1.50" to the crosshairs, and you should be GTG.

Hangtime.

Is their a cheaper /or some one with free shipping
than getting it from GG&G /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
thanks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I also have the GS-1 rail and think my z rings are medium(almost positive) for a 1" scope ----- works well for me.

I must be going blind, as I didn't notice that Rich44 has a picture of the GS-1 right above my post, or I wouldn't have linked to it, and just referred to his pic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif Sorry Rich44, didn't mean to slight your pic in any way !! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

I got my GS-1 direct from GG&G, though it was on a very good sale. For me, the contour at the back end of the rail makes it much easier to operate the charging handle (even with the Badger Ord. Gen 1 Tac latch installed) with my optics installed. That was my main reason for ordering that particular riser / extension, was for the ease of operating the charging handle. There were less expensive alternatives, but ease of operation was worth the little extra expense for me, and I'll never be using BUIS, so it was perfect for my purposes. Once again YMMV. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
