I've had this scope for years and used it on several different rifle for load testing. Its been on 22 rimfire up to a 7 mag sendero and never missed a beat. I put it on a 223 varmint and headed to the range yesterday and I think it has finally died. I never could get the target to clear up. The objective seemed to be work but the second I turned loose of it, it would go out of focus. It is a Japan made and pretty old. From the research I have done, it was actually a pretty decent scope. I know some will say it junk and I'm not arguing the fact,I know its a Simmons. Should I just call it DOA or maybe try to have it repaired? Its sure been a good old scope.

Id say theres a 99.9% chance they will say cant do as its been out of production for eons. They may replace it with a new one that's not even close to yours.
Cant more than try though & see what they say.

Tasco fixed an old 3x world class pistol scope that was on my 35 rem contender. They didnt even require any returned shipping. I think that there is an above average chance that they can fix it. If they send you new one that you dont like you can always live with it until you can replace it. Right now you dont have one to use and if you change it can set on a shelf as a backup.
