simmons scopes

Dunno about those 2 in particular....

I only own a couple but I like all my Simmons optics. Not the fanciest or most expensive, most will tell me they are junk, but they get the job done. I prefer Bushnell, but I'm not afraid of a Simmons by any means.

May not be a lot of love for Simmons in some quarters but I like mine..all WTC 6.5-20X. Might be big for your application but mine represents good value for the price point. Here are 5 of my 7;

While I own 4 or 5 Simmons with most of them on centerfire rifles, not the ones you've asked about. Mine have performed well for me when target shooting. All mine were made when Meade owned Simmons....don't own any made since Bushnell acquired Simmons.

I may be wrong on this, but under impression the Weaver 40/44 aspherical lens scopes are made in Philippines in same plant where older Aetecs were once made before Simmons started making Aetecs in China. Do own one of these Weaver aspherical lens scopes and its a good scope, very clear/bright lens in my 3.8-12x44

I still own a couple of the simmons scopes older ones though . I couldn't tell anything bout the new ones I have heard good things bout the Atec in the past

I HAD a piece of junk Simmons for a short time. I bought the Predator Quest series and if it was on a low power it was fine but turn the power up a little and you talk about blurry. Don't waste your money.

When I bought my savage 30.06 it had a cheap Simmons on it. Apparently the scope couldn't stand the recoil from it poi shifted 8 inches when fired after sighting in. I took it off and put it on my daughters cricket and that scope worked awesome on it. For a RiMFIRE I would t hesitate but for a dedicated hunting rig id invest a little more money on glass just my opinion Where bouts in Washington are ya??

I still have a couple Whitetail classics on two 22's, but I have upgraded to Luepolds or Nikons on all my other guns. Simmions worked fine for me when I was on a tight budget when the kids were little, But I like the better glass that I have now. Everyone buys what they can and thats what makes this a great country to live in, I am GLAD we have our freedom to own as many firearms as we want and rig them up as we see fit. Enjoy the holidays, and pray for our service men abroad, who are fighting for our freedom. GOD BLESS THE USA.----Riflemann

I have the WTC 6.2-20X50 on my 22-250 and absolutely LOVE it!! Midway USA is selling this scope for $109 right now. IMO you won't find a better scope for the $$$. It made a completely different gun outta it for me!!

I found the Simmons White tail 6x20x50AO to be a good scope for the money I wish they would put tactical turrets on it. Simmons has a great 2.5x10 scope white tail. I like there Pro Hunter 6x21x44 with side focus. The field of view is a little tight for hunting but great for target or squirrels supper clear glass. Not all Simmons scopes are good but they do make some good scopes for the money. If you don't like it send it back I have only sent one back. I own six Simmons 3 White tail two Pro hunters one 3x9 white tail. They work great and at night also with lights. I have recently upgraded a lot of my scopes to side focus and Tactical turrets Osprey International makes some scopes with 30mm tubes they are heavy but work great for long distance shooting also BSA has some scopes in the 30mm tubes with tactical turrets and side focus for $149 dollars with mill dots I have been able to kill coyotes on the run with this scope which makes it ok in my book.

I owed two of these scopes... and bought two more before I went on my trip out west...love'em... and the mildots are only 15.00 more... and... simmons/bushnell is giving a 20.00 rebate per scope...right now... get'em while you can...

I bought a Chinese made Aetec 2 years ago that is junk. It seems fairly clear but will not hold zero AT ALL. A buddy of mine has some older Pro-hunters that he swears by.

I now have all Leupolds and Redfields on my serious guns. They are all great so far.

I CAN SEE THAT EVERYONE HAS HAD GOOD OR BAD ONES. I HAVE TWO AETEC'S THAT HAVE NOT GIVEN ME ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL. ONE IS ON A 30-378 WITH A COUPLE OF HUNDRED ROUNDS THROUGH AND THE OTHER ON AN 8MMO6 NO PROBLEM ON ONE AT ALL.

the old Philippines made Simmons were decent scopes.

Meade Optics wich owned Simmons decided to move full production to China.

There new production plant had big problems LOL. Thus Meade sold Simmons to the current owner Bushnell Optics.

The old Simmons Whitetail Classic 6.5-20x50 is still made in the Philippines. Guess someone at Bushnell is on the ball!

Not a big simmons fan. I had one on my .270 and I was shooting 5" groups at 100 yards. So I bought a redfeild $140 and now it groups under an inch. It probably depends on the model but thats just my experience, also the clarity is not to great in al he simmons Ive had

glass is easy to keep up to date on.

Very few optics companiesactually produce a product. I'd say 80% are contracted out.

Bushnell must own 4-5 names now?

bushnell
simmons
tasco
millet
?

they do not own a production plant!
