Single handeled fleshing knives question.

I was wondering if these were used with a fleshing beam. I'm low on cash and I want to be able to handle my pelts so I can get more for them, but I can't spend a lot on the tools to do it. If the single handled fleshing tools arn't used with the fleshing beam, then how are they used. Any info is appreciated.

I've used them, but, honestly, they aren't worth much. You can probably get by on critters like the canines and muskrats that don't require a lot of fleshing, but if you get to beavers, otters, badgers, coons, etc. you'll want a good, heavy fleshing knife. I finally bit the bullet this year and bought a good Sheffield fleshing knife and wish I'd done it years ago. It'll pay for itself in the time you save putting up pelts.

I'll only be doing coyotes and possibly foxes if I get that lucky calling.

anyone here use a power washer to flesh?

My taxidermist uses one and he loves doing it that way... So much easier

that sounds like a good idea but that would be kind of expencive to get a power washer wouldn't it.
