skin yeast infection?? I need help!!

I am in need of a way to get rid of a dog skin yeast infection, not in the ears but it is on her belly and underarms. I am using some meds and a medicated wash from hte vet, but it does not seem to work too well. Add flour, salt , and milk. Kneed 5 times and bake for 35 minutes @ 350 degrees. Serve warm with butter and fresh jam. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Are you positive it's a "yeast" (fungus) infection? Dogs can get a variety of "exema" infections. Some are bacterial, some are parasitic. A vet should be consulted to determine the course of treatment for this dermatitis. It could even be mange.
 
NASA I took her to the vet and they gave me some pills and a medicated wash for her. I am trying tofind out if there is another way to treat it. It is a skin yeast infection, not mange. that was my worry. Hopefully it will clear up soon.
 
Joe, a few months ago I went to the Dr. with an ear infection. He gave me a prescription for some antibiotics. Two weeks later I still had it. When I went back, he wasn't in, so I saw another Dr. He said I had a fungus infection, like "swimmer's ear". That's why the antibiotics weren't working.

If the medicine hasn't cleared it up in 8-10 days, it's the wrong treatment. Without a culture, it's just a (educated) guess.
 
Hey guys I am sorry I was not too clear on this. The vet she saw took some impression samples and did a skin scrape. At first he thought it was mange too. After about an hour of looking he said it was a yeast infection( i am not sure the name but i do have the paper somewhere.

I really appreciate the help form all you guys. NASA thanks for the good advice. I think ill give her a couple more washes to see if it clears up. I want to take her out running but dont want to make the problem worse if its something out there irritating her.
