Skinning From the Ground?

Anybody done it much--love to see some tips. I actually did a couple a couple weeks ago and it did work, just took a little longer. Beats carrying them to a fencepost 1/2 mile or so away...I think. Just hooked my camera strap tied to the legs around a tree cactus and it gave me a half-assed anchor to pull from.

Couple advantages is that I think you get less fleash (Filipino wife's nickname for fleas) on you, and also less blood on your legs from carrying.

I pack a screw driver and use sign posts to skin, for a long time I had a pipe over hanging on the roof rack of my van and hung them on it, then I used the bicycle rack on the back of my van.

I skin 90% of mine on the ground. I do not carry them unless it is only a couple hundred yards. It is easier if they are hanging, but not bad either way. I timed a few last year, I think it was about 10 to 12 minutes to skin one. I don't skin out the heads though, furbuyer doesn't need them and it saves money on tanning.

Skinned a pile of coyotes by putting the hind feet under the truck tire.

Dogs choke chain one end on each back foot, then hooked on the trailer ball will make it happen.
