Skinning Rig

I have a skinning rack set up in my garage but I have been wanting to build a portable one for my truck. After much deliberation and 2 years of procrastination my buddy and I finally busted out the welder. Its not much to look at and we WAAAAAAAYYY over-engineered it, but I am happy with the final product. It will break down and fit in a 5 ft bed and will also lift a moose(not kidding, I really thing it will). all done now other than paint.

Right now I have a hand winch on it, but it is set up to be interchangeable with an electric winch.

That is neat, I have this idea in my head to make something like that but permanent in for the back side of the shed but I have a whole idea for a station from anything from fish to deer.. I am going to have to draw out plans and get material and bring a brother in law over, they are much better with a welder. But this idea will have to wait for the house add on to get done

That looks awesome. I've been procrastinating building one myself, but after seeing yours, I may need to re-motivate myself! I like the grabber attachment. I was just planning on having a hoist, but the grabber assembly is now on my "must have" list!

Again, that thing looks sweet! Now show us some action shots! Lol.

I guess I'm lucky, there always seems to be a fence post or tree near where I shot them but have used the grab handle of my canoe on the roof rack and the bicycle carrier a couple of times.

It is nice work though.

I am reminded of a comment once made to my Peace Corps parents while in the Dominican Republic: "You gringos are always inventing stuff so you don't have to work"!

(Nice job by the way)!

The mid and top section is 2x2x1/8. The bottom section(the part that comes out of the receiver) is 2x2x1/4.

The connectors are receiver material

the grabber is a mix of 2x2x1/8 and 1x1x1/8.

The thing is beefy. doesn't flex a bit with a full grown person hanging on it. definitely a bit over-built. lol
