SKS for .243??? Do it or dumb idea?

Not much info to go on but IMO an SKS is about as uselessas teats on a boar hog.

those are some high dollar teats at the moment

and there were millions of them made and they still have value so nice teats! lol

At 6mm06, contact/Google Tom Prince @ Kivaari. He reworked my SKS trigger and the difference is amazing. Quick turn around and very reasonably priced. You'll like it!

I bought an SKS in the late 80's or early 90's for $79. Fired it a few times and it sat in the back of the safe as I own many semi autos superior to the SKS. About 5 months ago I traded it for a Glock 32 with a custom trigger, polished internals, and extra mags. I thought I had made the deal of the century. I'll bet the SKS is worth quite a bit more now so maybe I wasn't so smart to trade it when I did. I'll bet you could trade yours right now for a very nice 243 bolt gun. I would probably do it for the right rifle. Best of luck to you.

Hmmmm. I think you're being a bit hard on yourself. That Glock that you traded for hasn't exactly gone down in value in recent days. Personally, to badly misquote the Steve Miller Band, I'd say: "Go on, take the Glock and run."

I'll bet whoever traded you that Glock wishes he had simply bought an SKS with cash and kept the Glock 5 months ago. He'd have gotten an SKS for a song compared to today's nutso market AND he'd have a Glock to sell which right now is also bringing a huge preimum.

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, oh what a party we'd have.
