Sling for a bolt

I need a carry sling for a bolt action rifle. I have military slings from the 70's that's all I have ever used. I do have a couple cheap cobra type that came on stuff that look like artificial leather. I think I want one of the ones that absorb shock. Any one got a brand that's great?

Thanks, sparky

You don't have to spend a ton for a good sling. Although I love the look of leather, I have discovered that the neoprene-backed slings stay on my shoulder way better than anything else. They can be had for $20 or so in most any sporting goods store.

I use "The Claw" manufactured by Quake Industries on all my hunting rigs now. It has a neoprene pad that reduces rifle movement while walking, and reduces fatigue by having a little flex and spring to it. They are made in all colors and camos, I even found a white one for winter camo. Highly recommended, I will never return to the old leather wal mart slings.

I have 3 Claw slings. Green, black, and white. I love them.

That said, I don't care for the company who now owns Quake. That being BPI.

I'll not give BPI ANY of my money for any product....

I also have a Claw sling and I like it, but I have a couple of Butler Creek neoprene slings that I like better. They seem to have a little more "bounce" in them and they stick to my shoulder very well. In my opinion , until something better comes along, neoprene is the way to go.

I assume you mean Ballistic Products? Care to elaborate? I have had zero problems with them and have purchased from them for over 30 years.

OK ... got it.
