Sling recommendation

My rifle weighs in at 10.5 lbs. I plan on walking in to an area a good distance from where I'm parking the truck. Looking for a good sling that will not slide off the shoulder.

Any ideas?

No sling, carries everything and keeps your hands free. Front has D-rings to hang your caller from.

Shoulder slings will not be comfy with a heavy rifle and you will constantly fight it.

For hands free hiking:

Try a 3-point sling, and sling it away from your legs around your side or back for hiking. Works even with a backpack/frame pack.

If you're wearing a real backpack, try a Kifaru Gun Bearer. They work pretty well.

Or, most comfy for long treks, strap your rifle to your pack, most packs have side pouches for water bottles that fit the butt stock perfectly, then use compression straps to hold the upper rifle steady.

For hunting, I prefer using my Ebelestock's gun scabbard.

If I don't have my backpack, and don't need quick access to the gun, I prefer to sling it cross ways on my back.

Using flush cups on the side of the stock lets the gun lay more flat than with the regular sling studs on the bottom.

Look at limbsaver slings. Like the Quaker claw but has a web design that really sticks to your shoulder.

Not sure on your rifle set up but I absolutely hate any sling that attaches to a swivel stud. You can buy the QD cups for like $15 and epoxy/glue them into the Left side of your gun. It will keep the rifle tighter to you back and wont let it flop around any. When using swivel studs the rifle is hanging underneath the attachment points, with the QD cups the attachment point is centered in the rifle, the scope will be on top as opposed to hanging underneath and the bolt handle will be facing away from your back.

That being said... Magpul MS4 sling is perfect.

I agree on the QD cups. This is going on a KRG Bravo stock and the stock came with the mounts for the QD.
