Slow twist 22 CM…

I’ve got a 1:12” 22CM for 55 gr bullets in the late stages of being done. I understand many of the reasons why most would disagree with my choices thus far, but that ship has sailed. I would like to hear from anyone who has done the same, and has first hand experience regarding SAAMI spec freebore (.081”)…how do you like this setup, or did you use a custom reamer with less freebore….wish you would have done anything differently regarding your reamer? Thanks in advance…

That FB is likely very similar to a lot of factory 22-250 barrels, in my experience the 55 NBT is very jump tolerant. I haven't measured/compared the 53 vmax to the NBT lately, a long bearing surface bullet will help you. For coyote the NBT would be where I would start.

I have a slow rwist 22 creed, have fast twist as welll. I got the slow twist because at the time, i couldnt find a mag that i could reliably put more than 6-7 250 rds in. I just used the same load as my 250.

Not a CM, but I did a 22x47 Lapua in a 12" twist.

I originally built the gun with an 8" twist for the 80 Berger VLD's. Worked great, but then got the itch for a slow twist for more speed at night.

I sent the reamer in & got it reground to zero freebore, specifically to shoot the 52 Bergers. Shot them amazing in the 18" barrel at 3800.

After 3 years or so, I only ever took it out once & never shot anything with it, so with other 22's in the safe, I parted it out.
