Slug gun scope opinions

Would love a 1.5-6 Swaro but dont have that kind of money. Id probably buy a Leupold VX-R 2-7 firedot 4 or VX3 2.5-8x36, both of them around $400-450

I really like my Nikon TurkeyPro 1.65x5. Granted, it is designed for turkey guns with the reticle, but I find it a great reticle for slugs too...easy to acquire in thick cover.

Made for shotguns, plenty of eye relief, and pretty reasonably priced.

Take a look at them and see what you think.

Best for the money is the Leupold ultimate slam. It has bdc and can be had for around $250. I have one on my savage ML II. And its a great scope for the money. My buddy has a Nikon omega and the clarity does not compare to the leupold.

my choice? maybe swaro 1x6 swfa ss 1x4 yeah in my dreams! what i have is bushnell banner 1x4x32 circle reticle. not quite true 1x maybe 1.25? but i can take shots with both eyes open. almost always running shots during drives. i think i have turned it off of 1x twice in 6 years to glass what i thought were bedded deer. 90 dollars. for our style of hunting i have to have the low power. it's a slug gun, i'm not trying to reach out to 400. a couple of the guys use 2x7 and do well with them. those are on bolt actions. mine is a 1187.

I put Bushnell's Trophy red dot on my 835 12g/cantilever.Very quick on target and very accurate.Down side is it's not good in low light but in NY it's sunrise-sunset for big game so that's really not a problem.

Leupold VX3 2.5-8 on several slug guns over the years when we were limited to slug guns for deer. They are an ideal scope for a slug gun. Run them on several of our rifles and one sits on my Nula muzzleloader. I have several and highly recommend them.
