smile for the camera

What I see is this; as far as Wal mart selling made in China products, that's not unique. Look around, that garbage is everywhere. As far as a different line of guns, I can't be the only one who remembers Sear's Ted Williams line (a lot were made by Hi Standard) or Monkey Wards Western Field( a lot by Mossberg),nothing new there, buy em or don't!
What I do have a problem with is teeming up with the likes of Bloomberg and his Mayors Againt Illegal Guns (notice it's not against Criminals). While not a direct attack on the 2nd, their not stupid, it is a dangerous path. While Wal mart can absord the huge cost of this nonsense, many others won't be able to. Their line about urging others to follow their lead shows where their heading. Waste money on something already done, records are already kept. Straw purchases and the like can already be traced. If the BATF's figure is right means they already have the way to pursue that. Just another attack but a different angle.

Well, I've got to ask, does anyone in here actually own or shoot a Walmart quality type firearm? I think I'd revert back to the spear /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I own two... Savages, a 22 for the kids and my 270 (with accutrigger). Couldn't afford them through the local Ma and Pa cause even with the "good ole boy" discount they were 50% higher...

They both shoot WONDERFULLY!!! And I'd buy more like them from WM if my local store still carried stock. (Guess I'll have to drive the hour drive to go get the next ones, and I bet I'll still save $$$$). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've been buying ammo from Walmart just because it's less than half the price of every place else. Today I picked some up and was asked the usual question, are these 223, 30-30 243, 270 or 22 magnum's used in a hand gun. On the way out the radio was going to the little old lady at the front. She asked me for my receipt, probably because of my dog food. She was probably 75 and asked me how my hunting was going. I had to laugh and said i'm not hunting at this time. She had to tell me how her two sons were turkey hunting and her husband was to. Good old girl from the old school before the hunting and gardening was done. Walmart will probably fire her.

Many companies (Ruger and Remington for sure) make special product lines that are available only at Walmart.

Please show some proof of that statement if at all possible. You'll spent quite a bit of time searching for any proof that isn't hear say.

I believe WalMart's distributor is Sports South llc., which also distributes to a BUNCH of other dealers throughout the country, to include BassPro and various MOM and POP shops throughout.

If anyone's dealer, brother, uncle or Mom and Pop store has said that WalMart sells different guns, it's strictly because they are pissed at the fact that WalMart can and will sell them cheaper.

There isn't a Walmart within a hundred miles from here that sells guns, But ammo is reasonably priced. Not caught up in the greed craze I guess. Can't use buying power as an excuse. Gander Mountain wants 40 or 50 bucks for what I can get for 16 bucks at Wallyworld. Not a real fan but for ammo I'm there.

I live in a big city with a basspro shop, cabelas, and a sportsmans warehouse just 2miles from my home. Never bought a gun at wally world and probably never will. Of the big three stores that I listed first, I've bought one gun on sale at a good price from sportsmans. In the last 15 years, I've bought the majority of my guns and shooting supplies from a small local dealer because he will order anything I want. You don't get that type of service from basspro, cabelas, sportsmans warehouse or wally world. I'm willing to pay a little more for the service I've come to expect from the small gun store I deal with. Never asked, but I'm sure they would send a signed FFL on my behalf if I wanted to purchase a gun online. See if Wally World would do that for you.
