Smith 686 Holster

I got a new to me S&W 686 with a 4 inch barrel and need a holster. My other two pistol ride in Fobus and I like them, but they are CC pistols. I want a nice holster for the Smith and it will be a outside the waist carry. I don't want to invest a tone of money, just want a nice holster. What do you folks prefer? I looked at a Safariland and its nice but has no security to keep it in the holster. I will mainly be carrying this during hunting season. Thanks-Bill

Years ago, I had a 586 and sold it. I said if the opportunity came up to replace it I would take it and it did. What yardage did you sight yours in at? I sighted mine at 20yds but plan to stretch it out a bit further. Now I just need a good way to carry the 686.

Cyclone, well made, versatile.Unless you go custom maker,I think you would find the Cyclone hard to beat..Cross draw is nice when you will be sitting.Sometimes you can find good buys on E bay for holsters but do your research, sometimes used holsters will go for more than new.

I have this one for my 4in 686 as well.

Maybe a little bit pricey, but El Paso Saddlery will fix you up every time in grand style, no matter what the handgun is. If you want to spend less, a Bianchi 5BH or 5BHL (suede lined) leather holster is hard to beat.

These people have good prices on both of the Bianchi holsters. For El Paso check their web site.
