Anyone on here know anything about the Smith & Wesson 1000 Series shotguns? The price looks pretty good but I was wondering if anyone had actually used one in the field.

I can't find anything wrong with it, it is not dirty, it is just an autoloading single shot. One of those things that make you go Hummmmmmmmm.........

I got one. Had it for almost 20 year and it shoots like a champ. Never jammed no matter how cheap the shells were ( Use to shoot a lot of clay pidegons when I got board.

From what I understand it is mechanically it is much along the design of the Remington 1100s. I can't vouch for that just what I have been told. But there is not question it has preformed flawlessly for me.

I've had a S&W 1000 for 15 years and it has been a good gun. Upgraded to the Xtrema 3.5 mainly because I hadn't bought a new shotgun in a decade. Still have the S&W 1000 in the safe.

The old S&W shotguns did have troubles. There were several recalls of various models for different troubles. S&W has just announced a new line of imported shotguns, from Turkey I think. They're probably as good as anything else coming out of Turkey and there are a lot of imported shotguns from there nowadays. Some are better fitted and finished than others, but aside from that the designs all seem to work well enough. So far, that is...
