Sneaky leaf

I got a package of that sneaky leaf stuff today. I was impressed at how real it really looks. I grabbed a long sleeve shirt to test it out. Hear are a few pictures...

The 100 count didn't go very far. I turned my shirt around to see what it would look like.

I'm going to have to get another 200 to get better coverage. How I need to start on another Ghillie.

Hey 187:
Looks pretty sneaky alright. Can you give us a little more detail (like what the heck is this? An article of clothing, or leaves you pin on a shirt, or ? Made outta what? Are they quiet or do they rustle? Who makes or sells them)?

Are you getting lighting down Paso Robles way today? It's rumbling up my way, hoping we don't get dry strikes. Going out cat calling in a little while, I think...

Yo LionHo- Sneaky Leaf are three dimension leaves you pin on. They call it camo enhancers. Here is a pic.

Do a search on Yahoo. (I don't want to post a link for editing practice)

I bought a bag off of e-bay.I got the fall blend. I through them on a T-shirt but plan to use them on another Ghillie suit. The leaves are very sturdy. Well see how well they hold up after some field testing.

187 Coyote, when you make your gillie suit using these let me give you a piece of advise. Sew them on instead of pinning. Otherwise everytime you wash it about 30% of your stuff will come loose from the pins. I put a couple of loops around mine with dental floss and they will never come off without cutting the floss. Hope this saves you some time.

Scott.

Scott- Good advice. I use spider wire (fishing line) when I attach the netting to my BDU's. Works better for me and the color blends well. Stronger then $#!t too. I have been planning on a Ghillie with removable netting. That way I can wash the clothes with out destroying the rest. My other suits are made with Jute. Can't wash that and expect it to stay together. I heard here that someone through theirs in the wash and they are still trying to get that stuff out of their machine. I am working on a good fastening system. I have put a dozen snaps on a pair of coveralls. I’ll go with that if I don’t find anything better. Open to suggestions it anyone wants to donate.

Thanks for the advice though.

187, thanks for the info, looks great /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Also sold at Bass Pro shops.
I use the very small black or green plastic boundle ties. Used for boundling electric wires together, pulled tight and cut off the excess.
Thread from the inside, looping over what you're securing and tighten real tight.

Good Hunt'n and God Bless.

Ya I forgot to tell ya. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

For pressing them through very tight netting, cut the very tip diagonal so the pointed end passes through the net. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Oh, I wouldn't match the same colors too much together. The two green ones on the hat realy stand out together. They may need a touch of the marking pen or just dirty them up some.

The middle of a bush may be green when the tips of the same bush are different colors. Especially during drout mixing tan with orange going to green in the mid section. Just a thought.

Good ones to Ya.

Maybe its just me but those leaves look a little toooo bright. At least for around here where we hunt the yotes.

And btw........damn purdy lookin pup!
