Gotta give this light a

. Super fast shipping to boot. I got the red LED version. Used it the other night and had no trouble seeing/IDing critters out to 300+ yards. Called in 3 coyotes and killed 2. First one was 200 or so yards and could easily see the entire coyote 2nd was around 100 and was very lit up. I just plain ole missed the third not fault of the light.

Yep, The Best Led Light on the market today as far as I am concerned..
I just got another large order in today they are available for immediate delivery.

I started to order 3 of the 66lr lights this afternoon but did not get around to it. Now trying to decide between the 66 or 50. Anyone know what the 50 and 66 are rated at on the low setting. I like the fact the 66 has the brightest light but a little concerned that if zoomed in and within a 100 yards it may be too bright. ON the plus side, I did email sniper hog lights and they are getting ready to come out with a dimmer for the sniper hog lights. Also, if you put a halo shield on it does that defeat the fact you can zoom in or out with the beam?

I do not believe the shield will have any effect on the zoom function. The Coyote Light is built with a halo shield and it doesn't keep it from going from wide to narrow. Mainly it keeps the light off the rifle barrel.

As far as the brightness of the SH 66LR, with it on wide zoom that diffuses the light so much that I don't believe it will be a problem. Of course there is the dimmer mode, but with the light on wide view, it doesn't appear bright. It will be a help when they come out with the adjustable dimmer, but even now it should work fine. I've only had mine a few days and haven't hunted it yet.

Preliminary opinion only---It probably is as bright as the Coyote Light when zoomed fully, but covers a smaller area. At 100 yds, you won't need to fully zoom to identify and shoot. Remember you want to get them in the light early as that doesn't effect them as much as just suddenly hitting them with a bright light. Keep the beam dispersed for scanning and zoom just enough to identify and shoot.

The adjustable mount is nice on top of the rifle scope and can get well aligned with the crosshairs. I don't believe I would like it side mounted. There is a little bit of wobble in the head when zooming in or out. It is not bad, but can cause some movement of the alignment with the crosshairs. It is a nice light and a great deal at $185. It won't replace my Coyote Light but will be available to my hunting buddies when they need a light.

Jeremiah, let us know when you have the shields available.

I know that green shoots farther than red but I'm wondering if the red 66 will throw farther than my green xlr250? If so that's really impressive because this xlr is a great light

Also the halo shield does not effect the focus of the light.. just keep your barrel and surrounding area clean of light..

Manofsteel,
I personally would purchase the 66LR aand with the focus and 2 mode switches you have the best light if needed.. if you go with the 50LR then you are cutting yourself short on the distance side if for some reason you need it.

Exactly the reason I went with the 66 over the 50.

I am new to the forum but have been hunting yotes for decades. i use to carry around a car battery for my spot light thats how long i have been at it. i finally got tired of hunting at night and now only hunt during daylight hours. i see that there are some good lights out there now and would be interested in purchasing one but i have no idea which to buy. i dont want a sales person to just sell me something because they want to make a buck. so that being said what would you buy to hunt with at night if money was not a problem? thanks so much

If money was not an issue I woulda leaned towards the Coyotelight. But I think Im going to be plenty happy with the sniper hog light 66 which as a kit was about 1/2 the cost of the coyotelight.

The 66LR shines farther and brighter than the Pred9X both in RED.
I am a salesman, but I also sell alot of lights. I give facts not opinions.
Personally for my money I would get 2 of the 66LR for less than the price of some others..
and out throw them..

does the 66 have a flood type function? i dont like having to go back and forth across my hunting area. thanks
