I was thinking about using the snow camo tape on my AR. Has anyone used this before. Just curious how it looks after a few years and if you have taking it off? What the gun looks like after you take it off? Any input is helpful. Thanks

Hey if you want to save a buck go to you local Tractor Supply or Vet supply store. I buy white ace bandage rolls which they use on horses for about $2.00 each. One roll per gun. They work real well and over 5 years they have yet to do any damage to gun finish. I change them out at the end of each season. With a marker you can even add you own pattern after it's wrapped.

The Camo Form tape works great, I even saw it at Cabela's of all places ON SALE for $9.00. When I do use it, I put it on and take it off depending on snow conditions, but always remove at the end of the season, and get new for the coming year.

The ace bandage stuff is good too, I have used that in the past.

I even bought a bunch of what is called "pre-wrap" in bright-white that sports trainers use to wrap body parts before applying tape.

None of it is meant to last forever, tear it off when your done with it, or if it is more dirty than acceptable and start over.

DO NOT USE any camo tape that has a sticky surface. Ok, so you can..but you'll really be kicking yourself if you ever try to get it off.

mr. outdoors,
nice find all the mcnett stuff i got is 10X the price of the horse leg wraps, gonna have to get some of this.
thanks.

+ 1 on Ace Sports tape. $1.79 a roll at Walgreens. I redo each gun half way through winter because the tape gets dirty from handling the weapon. Also I clean outer parts of gun then light oiling and wipe clean and new white tape.

your talkin the pre-wrap type right??? not the athletic tape.

horse leg wrap...its 200 dollars a roll....it sticks to itself...no glue.....agway...or tractor supply...can be taken off and reused...and keeps your hands warm when holding the gun

Start one, it looks like the demand is there, I'm sure some will follow suit.
