Snow-mobiler kills attacking MOOSE with his GLOCK!

I saw this on Facebook. Not sure how i feel abou this one. Snowmibiler probably coulve went off trail around her and let her be

It would seem to have been easily preventable with a little patience. And then to ride around it and leave it wounded and flailing on the side of the trail is stupid. He started it, he should have finished it.

Lesson is you can bark to stop a wolf or coyote but not wise to sound like a predator to the prey. Fight or flight is only half flight.

I don't understand why someone would put something like that on the Internet. All he had to do was go around. Thank god it wasnt someone else on a snowmobil on the path in his way. And In another thread there talking about it being bad to call coyotes dogs.

+1 and then to post the video on facebook gives some indication of his mindset.

Seriously?!?.......I lived in North Eastern Washington for ten years and have had the same type of run ins with many moose, deer, elk, and horses on snow machine trails........they will get off the trail if you keep moving towards them.

If I ever do have to shoot an overly aggressive animal like that (which I highly doubt) , I am going to sit there and attempt to call in a coyote while I wait for Game and Fish.......instead of driving off like a gangster.

Someone forgot to tell that to this moose.I agree the guy's an a-hole!

i hope he was cited for illegal take, as well as wanton waste!

there is at least one story like that per year around here except its bears. all the city dwelling people think it is so cool to move into the mountains and then as soon as they get here they want to kill all the wildlife around their property. they think that every bear they see is coming to eat them.

Exactly how I feel. I really didn't like seeing him drive away while the animal was still alive. It's hard to say what I would do if I had an angry moose on top of my snowmobile but If I took it to the ground I would finnish it.

He could have been with his son and had the only gun. Would any of you risk getting mauled and not being able to protect one of your family?

The more I think about it though. Even if he did the wrong thing by moving up to it closer, once he was in clear danger he shot untill there was no longer a threat, he then got to a safe location to maybe call the right people. That is exactly what I was taught to do. It's a moose not a person, I know, and seeing wounded animals is my least favorite part of being an avid outdoorsman but what would some crazy animal lovers say in court if you've clearly executed the animal(even though it's the right thing to do.)

Hind sight is 20-20....

Totally senseless!!

As many have stated, why did he continue forward? He should have stayed back and let the Moose wander off of the trail!

And? Seriously, who carries a Glock to go Snowmobiling??

This guy didnt gun his attacking moose down. LOL

He prolly thought the moose would leave. Once the moose attacked he didnt have much choice. He didnt have anywhere to go at that point. He did fire a warning shot, even though is wasnt on purpose. Thats a big animal that would maim your hind end.
