A fully loaded Russian IL-76 cargo plane...... payload 1 million pounds!!!! This really raises the pucker factor.... Listen to the "controllers" in the tower who are Australian: Ya gotta love it."The Vodka Burner" as the Aussies call it, literally uses every inch of runway.......

The IL-76 is an impressive plane, but the Russians don't maintain them well from my experience. We had one land at Tuzla, Bosnia when I was there some years ago. You could actually see the tirecord in some of the tires. They loaded it up and flew it out of there though!

There's lots of jobs that rock, flying that boat would be one, kicking in doors in Mexico would be two, seeing America from a train engine would be three.

In the old days the film link wouldn't have been allowed due to foul language. Times do change though. Those big planes look like lumbering beasts, their size makes'em look like they are moving far slower than they really are. I remember working next to runways while in the setvice and watching C-5's take off. They look like they are barely moving when the wheels lift off. Interetsingly enough they are moving far faster at takeoff than a T-38 and a T-38 looks like it's going screaming fast when it takes to the sky.
 
It never hurts to be consistent. You certainly have been over the years as have many others. The plane video was cool, even with the formerly unacceptable language. I admit that if I were in a similar situation my language wouldn't be any better.
