My son's bobcat mount is back. Well, it was actually back a couple months ago, but a promotion at work has left me with zero time to photograph it and post it up.
The taxidermist did an outstanding job I thought. Bobcat mounts seem so hard for a great majority of taxidermists to do, with many of the cats faces looking like they were undergoing forced colonoscopy. I had hunted for a taxidermist for a while that I thought could do a good cat mount, in preparation for the day my son got his cat. Well, when he finally did get his cat, we had NO time left before I had to get him to the airport so he could get back to his mom's house, so I dropped the cat off where I dropped my deer mount off a few days earlier. I saw a cat that he did for my processor on the wall, and the results were such that I thought I could trust him with my son's cat. Glad I did, because the cat mount came out great I thought. He got us pretty much exactly what we wanted.
Pics don't really do it justice, as in order to expose properly for the cat, the rocks come out darker than they actually are.
A few pics.
The Northern AZ guys would do well to give Chris Favour at Mount-n-View Taxidermy a shot at their next cat or other predator mount. I love the work he did on my son's cat and my deer.
Speaking of the deer, a shot of that mount as well:
