Sound Combos for PreyMaster

I have been asked by Hunters Specialties to put together some more cartridge sound combinations for the PreyMaster to be made available to consumers.

I welcome any suggestions that you guys may want to contribute. I feel that we need to make some combos available that have a primary prey species combined with coyote vocalizations as well as a coaxer type of sound to round out a logical set of sounds that would be used at a typical calling stand.

Example: CT101D SuperJack, CT163 Coyote Pup Distress, CT168 CoyWolf BarkHowls and CT103 Lip Squeak.

I know that the combinations are many but I need to come up with a dozen that would be good combinations of our very best sounds. Not only for Coyote but other predators as well.

Here is your chance to get your two cents worth in for the combinations you would like to have available.

I'd like to see Vittles a la jackrabbit, coy wolf bark howls, lip squeaks and lone coyote challenge. Also grown cottontail, squealing bird, grey fox pup distress, fawn bleat.
coyote locator, coyote pup distress, baby javelina distress, baby cottontail distress.
I could go on and on but there are a few. I really like the new Prey Master and it is going to be my main caller now. I have and use the JS 512 and a Power Pro. Hurry up and come out with a Remote for the Prey master that will drive the speaker a little more for more volume. Love the JS line of gear. Bruce

How about some new stuff as well
- Coyote Challenge CT152, Puppy distress ct163, coyote barking, NEW coyote yelps, Locater CT161
- Another Crow disk
- Fawn distress 155b, Doe in distress153A, NEW Mt Lion vocalizations
- Randy Anderson calls $ howls

MAGPIE, MAGPIE,and more MAGPIE. lol We want magpie !!! Alone or combined with others, but we want em.
Ya knows whats strange is over the years I've probably had 12 to 14 magpies taken from the nest to be raised as pets, I never even thought about taping any of the crazy things as they were yaking in there native tongue. I might just have to get another one this year. hummm, I wonder if the wife will hand feed it till it gets old enuff to eat by itself. NAW Larry

GS,
Your CT116A Sqealing Bird, two baby cottontails in distress at the same time, cardinal in distress, baby kitten in distress.

Coyote challenge, locator howl, female howl, coyote pup in distress.

Has anyone ever recorded two coyotes fighting? Might work as well as antler rattling does for whitetail deer.

Here's a few more based on requests/questions we get each day -

Moose cow
Moose bull
Caribu distress*
Moose calf distresss*
Wolf howls*
(*nearlly every phone order from Alaska & Canada asks about these sounds)

For Western states hunters
Antelope doe distress*
Antelope fawn distress*
(*should be a dandy on coyotes)
Anteolpe Buck - Bark
Anteolpe Buck - Challenge Call

Squirrel calling disk (I don't make this stuff up)
- Chatter
- Babby squirrel Distress
- Barks
(the preymastey is really the perfect size for a squirrel hunter to carry while strolling thru the woods)

* note HS would increase it's market share by just offering 2 new sounds - cow/calf moose distress & antelope distress. Hunters would by PMs just to have access to those sounds.

*Take note Wayne - Predator Spanker

Good hunting to all,

AP Jones

Thanks for that suggestion on the moose. We have a limited amount of what you have suggested but need to work on those. I need a moose cartridge for Oct myself.

Hi GS,

I was at your seminar at Jay's a couple of months ago. When are your deer sounds going to be available? I would like to see another Crow chip also. The deer sounds I would like to have are:

fawn bleat; doe Bleat/grunt; young buck grunt; dominate buck grunt.

sniff/snort/wheeze; estrus bleats; light rattling; buck grunt.

Thanks for asking.

We are deep into those deer sounds right now and they should be available by fall. I am going to recommend 2 new Crow cartridges also. Thanks for the input. I hope you enjoyed the seminar. I sure enjoyed the cold temperatures.

I would buy five today if you had one disk with;

1-challenge howl
2-vittle's ala jack rabbit
3-yellow hammer
4-cotton tail distress

I assume you are talking JS sounds only. The ones I use most frequently are

  • Grown Jackrabbit
    High Pitched Cottontail
    Grown Cottontail
    Superjack
    Cannine Puppies

These sounds will call a lot of coyotes if used properly. I also find the Coyote Pup distress tape useful. You might throw in the Yellowhammer Woodpecker for variety. Add the Lip Squeaks for the hangups and a hurt adult coyote (which I don't think JS offers) for the multiple targets and you have a library of sound for a lot of predators, but coyotes in particular. Some might find a lone howl useful also, but I use a mouth call when I feel that is necessary.

As long as you are asking for a wish list, I'd like to see something in a baby calf distress. Would work at specific times of the year and I think would target the coyotes that I really wanna kill in the first place, the ones that are getting the calves.

Sounds that I would like to see
Elk calf
Frantic Duck
Coyote pup fighting (that has yips low growls then
Yelps) The sound would need to be at least 30
seconds
Two ground squirrels bickering
Varied thrush

I would like to see a module for hog hunting with the following Johnny Stewart calls that are on their
wild Feral hog cassette.

Pig (CT124A), Wild Piglet Distress (CT124B), Feral Hog Feeding Frenzy (CT127A) and Grunt'n Ferals (CT127C)

How about a reasonable price remote setup for the preymaster. By the way, I like mine just fine, it was just what I was looking for.
Barry

Mr. Gerald Stewart...

I would like to personally Thank You for asking for our input. I personally have used JS products for many years and will for many to come and for you to personally ask the consumer what they would like to see is just that much more proof that ya'll are classy folks. Thanks

The most productive JS sounds I have used in electronics is as follows:

Super Jack

Viddles Ala' Jack Rabbit

Grey Fox Pup

Cottantail Distress

These are the sounds that have produced the best results for me anywhere I go here in Texas and something that is kinda funny is I have called more bobcats in with the grey fox pup distress than I have fox, so I know that sound is versatile enough be used for all predators. The jack rabbit sounds can also double as crow calling sounds. I have never used either of them were I didn't have the crows swarming overhead, but they are different enough in my opinion they could be incorperated together on one cartridge.

Even though there is some ressemblences in sounds with these choices I would like to see these sounds on one cartridge simply because they are proven selections that never seem to stop giving good results.

Thanks Again GS /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

GS, I'll 2nd every thing busta-yote just wrote. I'll also say that your jackrabbit tapes have been very good to me as well. And that old 512 caller I have, I've used it, abused it, it's been to hell and back, but she just won't give up the ghost. It's still got the ORIGINAL battery in it. What a fantastic caller thats been over the years. In fact I've still got one of the old JS e-callers that I 1st started out with. You know the one that weighed 18 pounds and took like 46 D-cell batteries. LOL Lots of great memories with that old caller too. I'm mainly using a version of the homemade e-callers now days but the 512 goes with me for backup if needed. THANKS to you and your dad for all the good times, Larry
