South Texas Hogs and Dogs

This years hunt in Texas had me kinda working as the outfitter. I lined up the land, the room and board and the two groups of guys. It's an annual trip down to see my younger sister that has turned in to a hunting excursion. She has a double-wide on her property that we use as our hunting cabin. We built a hog cleaning station, electric hoist and all.
The first week, John, Nick D. and I drove down. Rod and Dave flew down and rented a car. After licenses were purchased, we settled in for the night, except I caught some hogs slipping out of the river bottom and dropped a sow with my .243. Later that evening, I fell asleep on the deck, awoke at 1:45am, checked the yard with the Gen III NVD and shot another hog. Two down before breakfast.
Saturday, I sent the guys up to Cuero for a dog/hog hunt with a friend, Jeremy. He did his best but the hogs were just not co-operating. That night, we all went out to a ranch, posted in selected areas and waited for dark. Rod had 50 or so come in to the waterhole but they were mixed in with the cattle so he held his fire.
Sunday, the hogs were back and he got one before they all ran off.
Mon, Tues and Wed they took several more hogs. Wednesday, three guys left and two more came in from South Dakota, Nick S. and Adam, two sons of a buddy of mine. Wednesday also proved a good day as the neighbor gave us permission to hunt next door and two farmers called and wanted hogs shot out of their recently re-planted corn fiels, about 20 minutes away.
We hunted until Sunday. John and I cleaned up the cabin and headed home on Monday.
All together, we shot over 20 hogs, recovered 15 to bring home.
I hunted coyotes, bobcats and javelina that week while the guys were hog hunting. I shot two coyotes and 1 javelina. Saw and missed probably 5 coyotes and saw no bobcats.

I should note that some guys came with NVD and I set them up with a couple of night hunts. The last two nights there, John, Nick S. and Adam stayed out all night and shot plenty of hogs for the two farmers, keeping about half they shot.
