Ok I posted this before, ( year or 2 back )
I ordered a 6x45 upper from Scott first part of 2010, was assured all parts were in and rifle was a few weeks out. After 5 weeks I called and left message inquirung as to if my upper was ready. A week or so later I got a call back that he was headed out to shoot it the next day and would ship it to me. Another 2 weeks go by and again I call and ask if my upper has shipped. NO ANSWER, 2 more weeks go by and now I am 2 1/2 months in and have made several calls, emails and no response. Finally after 3 1/2 months I get a response and am told that the upper is ready and should go out shortly. 3 weeks later and Still nothing, but wait 2 days later I final get my hands on the upper and it looks great, But it is a 18" instead of a 20" that I speced out over the phone and in a followup email. I call Scott not very happy and he says he will make it right if its not what I ordered but first since I have the upper to try it out.
So I agree ti that [beeep] it took 3 almost 4 times the lengh of time I was originally qouted, so by this time I have loads ready to try out and scope and evferything .I get it all ready to go and make a plan to drive out to the desert the coming weekend and take it for a test drive. That saturday moring finds me out at my spot before the sun rises and I get everything set up, load my magazine and the big moment I've been waiting for and Fire the first shot at a target at 50 yards. Well its a little off so I adjust my scope and take aim again and......nothing I know weird right. so I put the saftey on and pull back my charging handle and a empty comes flying out. Dang that was weird didnt even eject my brass. So I let the charging handle slam forward and chamber another and bang she goes but no brass came out.
So at this point I'm thinking somethings wrong with my load and its not giving it enough to fully cycle, but these are proven loads in quite a few other 6x45 of the same configuration. Luckily I have about 8 different powder and bullet combos loaded up to try, so on to the next one. And every single one of them will not cycle. AR lower was all never standard parts nothing fancy. By this time I am pissed I drove out over 1.5 hrs each way from my house to shoot a single shot AR ?? What the [beeep]!!!
I call Scott up and he is bewildered, said it fire 8 times in a row when he test fired it. So I package it up and send it back. 3 weeks later I get a call saying my AR is good the port hole in the barrel had to be opened up for it to cycle.... Wait I thought it cycled before when originally test fired???? I know weird right! So the next weekend finds me back at the range again and here we go... But wait its still doind the same thing except this time it will fire 2 sometimes 3 before it wont eject them.
So again another phone call, me- Scott this things still screwed up isnt cycling reliable I have tried different lowers, 4 different kinds of mags almost 15 different load combos, Scott- I don't know what to tell you send it back and I will look at it thoroughly.Soi I package it back up again and send it on its way. This time I get it back a week later and am told I had to open up the porthole on the barrel even more but I've tried different loads and its reliable.
So I'm headed back out to try this again. If your still following this is time #3. And all seems well it shoots, cycles and is actually functioning like a AR.
Fast forward 4 months and I am with some friends in southern UT for a coyote/ bobcat trip. We are having fun I bring along my 6x45 as well as a bolt gun for backup. Luckily on this particular stand nothing can in and we are shooting at some rocks and I take aim with my Specialized Dynamics 6x45 AR and shoot and smack and out comes my brass, thats a good sign and take aim again and click....OH NO you have got to be kidding me, my AR is short stroking and isnt going all the way back to pick up the next round. ( the guys with me on this trip are pm members so trust me I'm not making this stuff up ). I am messing with the gun and everytime it short strokes. So after I get back from the trip I call Scott up and say I know this sounds weird but I think there is still some problem with this upper. After a conversation he agrees to take a look at it again and apon his finding the port hole was still to small, not sure how this can be but, at this point in my life I didn't know alot oabout AR's, adjustable gas blocks or anything so. Fast foward to right before the pm hunt of 2011, he says he's got it working and wants to send it back to me for me to verify and use for the pm hunt. I get it back again we are talking 1 year from the original order and FINALLY everything is working as it should.
I decided to post this because 2 of my posts on this thread have been deleted today and I have been told that I need to post some facts so here you guys go. Then theres the 17 Remington upper I got from Scott. Yes I got that one for being a prostaffer for him for a while but lets just say it had its problems and the wait time was very lenghty compared to the smoke and mirrors timeline I was qouted.
To the OP I hope your gets resolved quickly but alot of us on here know all to well the road your on!!!
