Today I've got for sale a open reed made out of Spalted Black Ash Burl. This is about the nastiest piece of wood I've ever had my hands on. Half rotten, full of worm holes, pits, and cracks. But it's been stabilized, so none of that will ever be an issue now. It's right at 4-1/2" from tip to tip, and run by a Carver Ruthless Rabbit. As you can see in the pictures I left some of the worms holes and pits unfilled because I think it gives the call that much more character. It has been sealed with a CA finish inside and out. Then polished up real nice.
