The word locally, is that all SW stores will be closed in 60 days. If they have something you need, you might want to get it sooner, rather than later!

I hope that's not the case. Despite their relatively light inventory recently, I have enjoyed having one in town and try to single-handedly keep them in business. It would be a loss here I think. They've saved me lots of shipping fees from Cabela's and gas to drive to a real city.

Only 23 stores closing in 60 days at this point. Oklahoma City, Wichita, Vegas and I was told Idaho, Michigan, Virginia, Texas and Tennessee. Not sure of the others yet.

It appears the Canadian Company decided not to buy them out and hold onto their cash or their Bank decided they were not funding the purchase.

Hoggy

On my last visit to the Roanoke, VA store I was surprised that they were restocking reloading supplies. I hate to hear they may close with Gander Mountain being the only other option without mail order.

We have three in Oregon. I cannot imagine that the Bend store will survive the economic implosion in that part of the state. The Portland store seems busy enough but the reloading shelves are bare. The last time in the only brass they had was .223. Must have just got a shipment.

Another similar store with fishing and hunting stuff, G.I. Joes (now just "Joes") has filed bankruptcy. The word is that if they do not have a buyer in 30 days, their time is up as well.

That pretty mush leaves us with Fishermen's Marine, Wal-Mart and Bi-Mart for the fishing/hunting gear. There are a couple of small guns shops (size not volume) that appear to be doing well. They have been around awhile and probably have a better debt structure.

Is anyone familiar with UFA stores? Is this UFA going to be primarily a sporting goods supplier. It looks like an agriculture company.

ouch! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif the one in DePere is closing. That store was well worth the 100 mile drive to go to. Looks like midway will be getting more business by me.

We loose our neighborhood store in Aurora. It has been so long since they have had any inventory that there was little I could do to help.
