Spotting scope

If you only had a budget of 500 bucks to buy a spotting scope, which one would you buy?
Would love to have Swar. Or others in that price range but can't afford.

I don't have any experience with the Konus in the link above, but for the same price, I picked up a 20-60x Redfield (Produced by Leupold) at Cabelas and have been very pleased with it..

It even comes with a pretty decent tripod when compared to most others on the market...The padded case is really heavy duty...The first day out with it, I accidentally knocked it off the shooting bench, onto the concrete pad and had no damage...At 60x, I can see 20 cal. bullet holes at 300 yards as long as they are not in a black center..I seldom use targets with black centers...

For your price range I would look at the Vortex viper HD or spend a little more and get the 15-33 Razor HD. Best thing to do is go to a place that has them and look at them first hand. What looks good to me may not look good to you.

If you use it in the field and have to haul it around on your back I LOVE the Nikon 13-30x50ED. if its for range work, I'll bet the Konus mentioned above is the ticket and take the extra $200 and have fun!
