Spray Paint!!!!!!!!!!

I built this AR years and out of complete boredom I decided to give it a spray job. I didnt want the rifle to have a manicured pattern, rather look like it was done in the field. My uncle is an armorer who has refinshed and collects firearms from all time periods. Let me know what you think. Good and bad accepted!!!!!!!

I washed it down with degreaser first

Then based it with with a Flat Dark Earth

Then used some brown and green

At the end sealed it with a clear matte finish

Did a great job.. Now you just gotta roll around on the ground with the rifle and scrap it up a little bit and also get it dirty. Nothing like a paint job on a rifle but nothing like scrapped and ruffed up paint to let people know you actually use the rifle in the field .

Nice job !

Next time you try painting on something try rhino lining. I did this to a shotgun. Looks pretty tough ! Plus to that is you can bang it around on anything and not have to worry about scuffing paint. Just throw it behind the seat and take off driving !

Your looking at it all wrong see.... If you get tired of that paint job you leave it alone and it gives you an excuse to buy another gun lol..

Nice job! I've got all the paint, etc. to do mine, just haven't taken the time away from other projects to get it done...

Maybe next weekend...

your matte clear looks very shiney...glare can be seen from a long way off...maybe some steel wool to knock it down a bit. just a suggestion.

Thats what I was thinking. I think the pattern/colors look good though. I'm going to paint mine today.

I'll have to take some pics outside the glare off of my recessed lights in my basement is bad

I recently finished switching my Colt into a yote gun and had toyed with having it dipped but cant afford it right now. If you spray the gun, is there anything you need to tape, besides the glass on the scope of course. Might try it myself. Yours looks great but I will probably try mine in a winter pattern.

I taped off the scope the forward assist and the trigger. The trigger can be painted, I just taped mine off to keep it black
