For the money, they are a bit expensive and have a proprietary piston system. You can probably do better for the money, even with a piston system. Just a few examples:

Radical Firearms 16" 5.56 Upper w/ MCSR Handguard

Adams Arms Midlength 16" Piston Upper

You can add a lower to the upper and have a complete rifle for an additional $110-$500, depending on how high end of a trigger or stock you want. The least expensive option would be a New Frontier Armory Polymer Lower at $109.95.
 
I agree with the above remarks. I have been using one for two winters with atn thor thermal. Ok shooter, probibly beacuse its not a true floating barrel. STUPID HEAVY. Horrible trigger,but its stock what more can you ask for. I like piston for suppressed thou.
 
I have a good buddy that had one, his mini 14 made tighter patterns... (notice I didn't say groups). He doesn't have it anymore.
 
I have the E modle also and I think it's great, I really only use it for predator hunting so the weight is almost appreciated on longer shots.
