Standing or sitting at night??

Not to go deep into it but this year I went 100% standing for maneuverability, visibility, and minimizing gear. I hunt 99% at night, high end tripod, all that. Up until this year I lugged around a folding chair for a lot of sets. Up until this year I thought I was a badass shooter that rarely missed or had questionable hits. I analyzed what I was doing differently this year, my 1 shot kill ratio is significantly down. The answer was obvious. I just ordered a new folder chair.

Yea I stand and use trigger stick tripod. Once I get set up, I’m Steady as can be. Lol that is until a yote pops out. Then it feels like I’m shooting free hand in 40 mph wind.

Before you go to Africa they will tell you to practice off of shooting sticks standing up. It is different and requires practice. I wasn't all that good at it to begin with but no problems now.

At night running thermal standing exclusively. Allows for 360 viewing with the monocular and getting the gun and tripod in position faster while the dog is still at distance. Has worked out good so far. Full moon nights might be the only time i look for cover to stand in.
