Starter kit for reloading

Depends on how much money you want to spend. I often recommend the Lee Anniversery kit, $70.00 at Cabelas's. That and a set of dies and the powder, primers and bullets can get you into reloading. The difference in money will put a lot of bullets downrange.

I've been using their equipment for lots of years now and I can't tell any difference between ammo loaded on this inexpensive equipment and the old Rockchucker I sold.

Here's my setup. I load for the 38 Special, 357 mag, 41 mag, 44 mag, 45 ACP, 45 Long Colt, 204 Ruger, 243 Win, 280 Remington, 7mm Rem Mag, 308 Win and the 8mm Rem mag.

I also use the lee kit. Value for dollar is really good with the lee equipment, but I will admit to having broke the toggle halves on the press. Lee replaced them for free but it was an inconvienience. I ordered some extras incase it happens again. $6.00 part.

The collet die by lee is excellent, the hand primer is great and the trimming system is also great.

If wasnt a starving student when I bought my stuff I probably would have gotten the RCBS stuff, but the lee Kit has served me well.

If you go for lee, I would look into upgrading to the Classic Cast press.
