steel shot and turkey choke

This has been asked on here for sure but i cant get the search to work for me.

Can i shoot steel BB shot through a turkey choke. it would be through a t/c or a benneli.

and can you shoot buck shot through a turkey choke if not what is the tightest choke you could shoot steel or buck shot through.

It all depends on the chokes. Alot of after market chokes you can but theres alot of them you cant either. Most (not all) of them are labeled for lead only if you cant. If you have any doubt though contact that choke manufacture and ask them. If its one you cant you not only run the risk of trashing the choke but you also can expand the end of the barrel where chokes threads so much that you wont be able to get another choke to stay in. I've seen it happen on a Remington and a Benneli. One was mine. Normally Modifed is considered max for steel shot and buckshot when it comes it normal choke. Rember too that tight chokes dont alwasy give the best patterns with larger shot. Pattern your gun load/ combo and find out how it shoots. My guns shoot best with an Improved mod with larger shot sizes unless I'm using my Patternmaster or Wad Wizard chokes. They are both amazing tubes for tight patterns with larger shot.
