The B&C Carbolite is a decent stock along with the Medalist for a little more money, I have one of each and have no complaints with them. Another good stock is the HS pro 2000 (same as the LRPV stock)but its a little more $ than the B&C Medalist and Stockys does have about the best prices on them.
The Rifle basixs triggers are pretty decent I like them better than the accu trigger.
I shot this 5 shot group the other day with a factory Savage barrel from a LRPV 12 twist 22-250

it cracks me up to go to the range and see guys smirk at you when you pull out a crap stevens with the grey stock and a tru dot scope and then outshoot them. i love it. im looking to put a heavier barrel on mine but it shoots so good i just dont want to mess with it.

First, you need to determine whether yours is a Center feed or Staggered feed because the action screw spacing is different. Measure the action screw spacing, they will be either 4.25" or 4.40" and order accordingly. There are fewer after market stocks for the Center Feeds. I don't know what your budget for a stock is, but a good stock for Savage/Stevens is Stockade gun stocks.

Call and talk to Kevin Rayhill and he can get you fixed right up.

Bought one in 7MM REM MAG; zeroed it in 4 shots at 200 YDS. So far its reponsible for two one shot mule deer.

Won't be wearing this one out in this century!!

Savage is good!!
