Stevens model 200 in 223 cal

Anyone have one in 223 calibre and how does it perform with factory ammo and what brand does it like? I have one in 270 but want one with a bit less recoil .
 
I have one and have been very impressed with how it shoots. Will hold its own against guns that cost much much more!!! And as for the ugly stock, well that can be fixed with Krylon!!!

Very good and accurate out of the box with anything I've put down it. Ugly stock can be upgraded, painted etc. I think even the black ones are ugly.

Good price, good deal can't go wrong. I love mine.
 
i have one and i love it. it likes heavy bullets i shoot mostly remington premier match with a 69 grain bullet. it holds around an inch most the time but every now and then i can squeeze out a group smaller than that but i didnt buy it to punch paper and it is def minute of coyote. buy one you will certainly not regret it like others have said its about the best deal goin. the stock is crap and my trigger still sucks even after bein worked on.. but they will both be replaced when funds allow

I found one last year in .223 that I really like. I was searching Gun Broker when I came across this one. It has a factory camo stock that was a special run for Grice Wholesale. I had planned to get the run-of-the-mill version with gray stock and do a camo job, until I found this one. This stock is a different design than the gray and is contoured better. It doesn't have that squared edges.

As to loads, it likes 60 gr. V-Max and H335. The rifle has a 1:9 twist. Several groundhogs bit the dust with it last summer.

In my opinion, the Stevens is one heck of a good performer in a low-cost rifle. I'd actually like to have another.

I really like the Stevens .223. Very accurate and you can adjust tje trigger on your own down to the 3-4 lb range. A little camo paint and they are the best deal out there IMHO.

Mine has loved the 55 grain vmaxes with 25.5 grains of H335. I am sure the 60 grain Vmaxes will do just as good.
 
Some nice looking stevens especially that factory camo stock rounded off.I just ordered the stevens 200 cant wait till it arrives it will be my first 223 calibre.
 
You will not be disappointed. I did not know what to expect out of it and it has served me far better than the price I paid for it.
 
Mine is a 22-250, and is still pretty new so I don't have alot of good data to back it up, but so far it appears to consistently shoot MOA five shot groups. Not bad at all for a cheap rifle. I'd buy another one.
