Stock and grip replacement

Well it looks like I need to move my scope ahead then. Crap, just got her shooting right where I want her and the scope is too close. I should have caught that before the first dog came along. I think the ACS will fit my needs. Thanks all

Will he have an issue with the gun being to front heavy if he goes with a CS?? I was talked out of a CS when I first got my VTR 15 with a 20' barrel due to the CS being lighter that the A2 stock, front being to heavy and throwing off the balance of the gun?? Maybe its BS don't know???

Field Medic,

I think the A2 is actually lighter than most collapsible stocks.
Or at least the CAA CBST or Magpul ACS stocks I have. If
you want to change balance, the Magpul ACS has plenty of
compartments where batteries or spare rounds can be loaded
to weigh the stock end down. On most 16" to 18" HBAR barrels,
with flash hiders, I don't find front heavy feels. I do have
light weight free float tubes, or light weight quad rail fore
ends, with light railed gas blocks. On my RRA 20" target
upper...well that is the definition of front heavy. For that I
would probably need a lead filled stock!

What type of mount do you have? A cantilevered mount will help the eye relief.

The DPMS Pather Bull came with a flat top and I have plenty of room to move the Warner QD rings ahead on the rail but not on the scope. The Nikon 4-12x50 has a 4 inch eye relief and even with all my winter wear on she's too close. At least this time it won't be while breaking in the barrel. I'll wait until I get the new stock on before I mess with the scope again. We just got 5 inches of fresh snow last night so I won't be hitting the range anytime soon
