Stock options for Remington 700 SPS-V

I had one of the non accu-block LRT stocks on an sps-v in 204 ruger. I like them, they are heavy but fit and feel very well.

as for the accu-block I have never used one but personally for the money id pass and just have the wood stock pillar and glass bedded.

Thanks for the advice. Also, I have never purchased a stock with the bedding block in it. Will there be any minor gunsmithing with the block? or will it basically be a "drop in"? Thanks!

HS Precision SA Sendero non palm swell can't go wrong there. Never warp, temperature insensitive, and drop in and shoot. 319 dollars.

Those are awfully nice stocks for the price.
If you watch the classifieds you might get one for a few $$ less.

The H-S and the Bell and Carlson are very similar but the Bell and Carlson will cost you less. Try Red Hawk Rifles, the have a bunch in stock and are GTG people.

I really like the HS that came on my 700P with the large palm swell. I also have 2 B&C medalist and give a thumbs up. I wouldn't buy a HS over a B&C though. I can't see the extra money. But that's just my opinion.

Thank you! I have 2 B&C stocks, my friend has only HS with palm swell. I like the HS but it's $100 more than B&C and I don't see what it offers that the B&C doesn't.

Here's the B&C Medalist on my 700 SPS VS Stainless.

I am familiar with every stock mentioned and have owned many B&C and H-S. I like the B&C target/varmint that Roode301 posted pretty well. And the one by old Johnny Burns of Greybull fame ain't bad either (kind of a "poor man's" A3). I do not like the palm swells on the H-S, and prefer the ones without. The Bobby Hart is too much of a log, IMO. The McCree gets too damm freezing cold for my liking to use where I live/shoot.

That said, I prefer the McMillan A3 above all others with a SPSV barreled action.

JMO........

Well I decided to go with a Bell and Carlson Medalist Tactical A3. I wasn't sure about the "hook" in the butt but it turns out I like it. When shooting prone, the hook is very nice to put your off hand into to help steady yourself.

joed: I have exactly the same setup. However, I am still trying to get enough mat'l. removed from the barrel channel to let it free-float out to the swivel stud so I can use an attached bi-pod without touching. I think our stainless SPS' barrels have even more weight and bigger dia. than the blued models. Guess I'll have to keep sanding...
Good choice by the original poster, btw!

Stop sanding and Devcon bed it a bit. That's the best way to get float without excessive material needing to be removed.
