Stock question

I am looking for a stock for a new rifle. Currently I have a McMillan a5 which is nice and has a lot of strong attributes. The main thing I do not like about it is the extremely wide forearm. I know it is much more of a bench/bipod style forearm. I would like my new stock to have a slimmer forearm. What is the manners line of stock like? Is the McMillan a3sporter a good option? I just don't have thousands to throw around on stocks to get.
 
I really like my a3 Sporter. It still has a beaver tail forearm, I don't have an a5 to compare it to but I don't seem to have a problem with it.
 
I have a gamescout and like it on a lightweight tikka build. I want a stock in between the gamescout and A5 but in more of a LR or tactical style. Action wise I have my choice between tikka or Remington. Barrel contour will be similar to a savage magnum contour. Just a nice all around/utility rifle. Hoping for it so weight right about 10lbs

How about a Manners "T" stock?
That are very similar to the HS Varmint style stocks, but I think (going from memory) the HS has just a little fatter fore end.
They also have the option of the excellent adjustable "Loggerhead" cheek piece made by Terry Cross.
I don't know anything about the Savage barrel contour you mentioned. The Remington Varmint contour is a good fit for me in the T stock.

Both of those have wide forearms.

I looked the world over and drove to handle many different stocks and I think the best thing for a hunting rig with a long range feel is the Gamescout inletted for Loggerhead hardware.

I have had an order in for 3.5 months and have my hardware ready to install. Hopefully within a month I'll have the stock and at that time I'll have the barrel installed. I have a spot in line at the smith. (Didn't trust the stock to come back perfect so I waited.)

I argue back and forth with a friend a lot (friendly disputes) about what a hunting stock should be.

If I had gone with a barrel any heavier than #5 I would have went with the MCS-T for sure.

The EH-2 felt good but I couldn't dig the boat paddle look. To each his own- that's why they make so many models.

Manners will substitute the Loggerhead hardware with LRI's lightweight titanium unit for no additional charge. They use LRI's for their Elite carbon fiber stocks.

I was going to send the gamescout to them and have it installed, but I just couldn't get over how small the posts were. Obviously it works, I just didn't like the aesthetics.
