Been lookin to get a new semi-auto shotgun and up till now I was gonna get the Mossberg 930. I just came across a thread on here that a few people reccommend the Stoeger Model 2000. How many own this gun and what do you guys think of em far as a predator and upland game shotgun?

Thanks,
Luke

I had a comoed 12 ga that I used for waterfowl and upland game, mine was a great gun, never had a malfuntion (which you would expect from benelli inertia system) handled great. I really liked it and regret selling it, but did so to fund another toy

same here,i kick myself for selling it as i never was able to find another either

Anything with stoeger on it is junk from my personal 2 year dealing with stoegers customer service & junk guns right out of the box.
My experiance with 2 stoeger uplander combos were nothing but bad.
Brand new shotgun and it missfired, then doubled fired all in the 1st box of shells, took 3x sending it back to be fixed, then they sent me a new combo, it missfired within 6 shots...sold it to a guy who was informed of said junk.
That said I do know others are happy with the 2000, but only the second or 3rd generation as the 1st ones were total junk that had the same issues, missfires, not feeding etc.
Its all been documented on the stoeger forums.

I have a 24" Stoeger M2000 that I take calling and I have had nothing but good luck with it. It has shot a ton of trap and been dragged through the mud on a ton of night time calling, couldn't be happier. I've got a Carlson's dead coyote choke tube, and it patterns really well with buck shot...

Never owned a Stoeger but I almost did. Very impressed with it but the fit and finish was just a tad rough....IMO. You might want to find or look at a Beretta 390....last one I saw was at a Wal Mart for around $500.

I posted on the Stoeger earlier. I had the opportunity to work at a demo shoot some months ago during an intro school for Big 5 employees. The Stoeger 2000 was at my trap house and I watched nearly 300 employees shoot about 3000 rounds through the 2000 in the morning and afternoon sessions. Zero problems. When the Big 5 employees left there was a case plus of ammo left and we finished it off from the 16 yard line. (Its pretty easy to shoot free ammo. That would make it 3250 plus rounds that day out of the same 2000. Wasn't cleaned or lubed at any time. Never a hiccup.

Before that, I was not much of a Stoeger fan. Afterward I was pretty impressed. For the price point, I don't see how you can go wrong.

I've got a camo Stoeger 2000 which is used for everything. It has never malfunctioned or jammed with any type of load.

I use it more than my Benelli SBEII

For a beat down shotgun, you can't get much better, the Stoeger M2000 is the Stevens M200 of the rifle world. All it needs is a camo paint job to be perfect. Mine has never missed a beat. I have a really nice 28" Winchester pump that looks like brand new with a pattern master that I love but it usually stays home since I bought the beater.

I owned one 2 yrs ago. It had weak primer strikes and started to misfire. Sent it back and they fixed it promptly. Although the gun shot fineI would not buy another one though, there are alot of other issues with them. Check out the Benelli forum

Thats like asking a Cadillac owner what he thinks of a Chevrolet!
They are never gonna admit that their $75,000 dollar Escalade is a Tahoe...
