Here's a young male I got yesterday at 140yds with my Stoney Point Polecat Rapid Pivot Bipod that my wife got me for Christmas (with a little help). Thanks for the tip AKwildman.

It's a great bi-pod. It has all the pluses of a bi-pod and shooting sticks. The yolk is flexible ( allows you to cant and lean forward/backward) and it snaps on and off easily. It has an adapter that connects to your existing swivel and provides another swivel attachment. Sorry you can't see the yolk on my photo. Here's a link to see it:

They have three sizes. This size is $40 at Midway.

Man I told you youd love it .I have two sizes the siting and the prone.I broke the prone model in on a sheep hunt and wouldnt go with out it now.Nice dog Joe by the way how did you camo those sticks? looks good!

I finally broke down & got these last week. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
You're correct, I love my sticks, but I think I might enjoy these more. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
However, I do feel cheated /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif...I didn't find any camoed ones. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I may be mistaken, but I believe the company told me that you CAN NOT attach your rifle sling to the bi-pod. It's one or the other, but not both. Is this correct? This was a big turn off for me.

Does the bi-pod just hang down when you carry your rifle or does it have some sort of spring to make it fold back like a Harris bi-pod
Thanks

The bipod legs/yoke snap off the attatchment base for carrying like a pair of sticks.
The connection MUST be perpendicular for them to attach or detach.
The sling stud is placed on the rear-facing side of the base.

My wife got me one of these for x-mas and I like it very much. I left the Harris attached on the front stud for those long, prone shots. I've never used sticks before and I probably never will so long as I have these. I love how easily the legs adjust and how quickly I can change heights by just spreading the legs apart.
Here's a pic with the Harris and sling attached:

"I broke the prone model" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gifI like taking things out of context! Anyway, I bought the second set of Polecat bipod sticks from them (lost the first set)(Warning---don't camo too much!) and it really does not work well with a beavertail front stock that is flat and the bipod stays too much in a V shape when folded out.Drat, I wish I would have seen this post before buying again.

I was going to purchase the stoney point rapid pivot but I thought you could only pan left or right /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif. I didn't know it enables you to move up or down (canting)? Is the yoke flexible enough to move your barrel up and down? Not just sideways? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

A picture is worth a thousand words. Here's a few pics.
It comes with a clip to keep the sticks together when not in use. I use it to clip it on my stool strap to carry.

Here's the swivel.

These show how the yolk flexes.

Just got back from hunting all day. Right at the end of my first stand, I had my only problem so far with the Stoney Point setup. The stud for my sling unthreaded and plunked my muzzle in the sand/snow. It threaded back on with no problems and, after a quick pass with the cleaning rod and a bore snake, it was off to chase them for the rest of the day. I love these things. I only wish they had three sections so I could lower the gun just a little more without have to spread the legs out.

Yeah, I'm going to dig through the gun room right now to find some. Of course, as cold as it's been, I guess I could just put a drop of water on the thing and let it freeze /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I didn't use the small plastic washer under the stud becouse I wanted more threads to hold more secure. I need to locktight it also.

Hey guys,
Nowhere on their site or in any of you guys post does it mention how high the sticks go. Does anyone have the correct height on these puppies? I'm fairly tall and when I use my little 3 inch cushion I need fairly tall sticks. I make my own but am interested in these if they fit me. I shoot in the setting position and I hate having to be bent over to make my sticks work. Thanks peterjc OOPS..EDIT I take it back I just found it on their site...25" to 43" on the sitting model. sorry I didn't look deep enough.

I'm on my way to my local Gander Mt. I'm pretty sure they have the Rapid Pivot there so I might pick one up. I'll let you know how I make out. I currently own the Stoney Point Bipod (stick style) and monopod as well and really like them. Same type of telescopic legs but has a V on top, don't attach to the rifle. I need some type of setup because I hunt at night mostly alone. I need one hand for the spotlight and another for my rifle. Gunmounted lights are illegal here in PA /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif.
