Hey guys just recieved my shooting sticks have you guys had any trouble with bases not holding to the ground seems like they keep sliding away from me.

Thanks

The only time they "Slide" is when there on Rock or very frozen ground. I Love mine and will never change, there perfect, EXCEPT... In the deep snow, they poke in and go to the bottom and my fat but stays on top. This is how I fixed that.

Have not had that problem with stoney point. Some other companies offer slip resistant spikes on their products but I have never found any reason to use them. I know you won't have that problem with Bog Pods.

Take a look at Jetman's pictures. You will see, that if you pull the rubber caps off of the end, they have metal studs on the end that might help make then stay put better.

I love my Stoney Point Rapid Pivot Sticks. I have mounts on all of my firearms (long guns).

Just put together a Bog-Pod with the xsr mount that you strap your gun on for hands free tripod system. I would guess it is around 30-40% more steady than my stoney point tripod w/stock support. The stoney points are good, just too much side to side movement for me. The Bog pod is not perfect. But it is a noticeable improvement [beeep]. No kills with it yet. Just practiced in the field with it in different positions. 360 degrees is cool. I have the one that goes prone.

Hate to rain on the stoney point love parade....but, stoney point makes a product that I believe could be better. If you have not split the "yoke" that holds the two sticks together you either haven't used them long enough or hunt in a mild climate. My hunting partner and I both own sitting and prone sticks. Between the two of us, we have split the yoke on no less than 8 shooting sticks. Here is our major complaint...Why can we not just purchase the yoke itself? A part that may cost them $1 to make, we are willing to pay $10 apiece for, but no...can't purchase just that part! Ok, then at least try putting something in the yoke that will not allow it to open enough to split. Or better yet, remember stretch armstrong toy? Couldn't break that material. With that said, won't use any other shooting sticks...love the setup...but shouldn't have to keep buying new...would spend $100 for a more durable product!

Have you called Bushnell (Stoney Point Customer Support)?

You CAN buy parts! I have! The yolk (they call it the mount I believe) is about $15.00 plus shipping. Bushnell's Customer Support is outstanding.

I called Bushnell Customer Service (800) 423-3537 today to inquire about the rubber piece that the 2/3 sticks go into. It is refered to as the Quick Connect in the instrustion manual and customer service calls it the V-Yolk. They will need your model number. $4.00 plus shipping/handling.

I have three sets with no problem. Mine are the older ones with the black rubber yoke. From my understanding, the problem is with the newer ones with the gray rubber yokes. Might have occurred when Bushnell bought Stoney Point. Some bean counter at Bushnell must have figured they could save a dime apiece.

The Rapid Pivot V-Yolk for the Rapid Pivot Bipod is PN ST13, cost $4.00 plus shipping. I ordered and received 5 (one to replace a broken one and four more spares).

Oh, I have 4. One for me, one for my wife, one for my granddaughter, and one for my grandson. That is why the 4 spares. Took 2 years to break one. And, yes, I agree, they need to improve the design/materials of the yolk.

I have steady stix II, I called Bushnell because my rubber pc tore in the middle, after 45 min on phone and the lady having no idea I just went to Academy and bought new ones.

Thank you thank you thank you. I have been going through heck trying to get them to replace mine. I have purchased 2 complete sticks and had both V yokes break. I got a replacement piece and it broke. I'm gonna buy 5 and hope I get one that is good. Some guys say theirs hold up great and I couldn't see why theirs would but mine were chit. I saw that my uncle had bought some about a year ago when I told him about them and his have a totally different rubber piece. His rubber V yoke is really flexible and soft. Mine is hard not flexible and unfortunately broken.
