I think it depends on how you intend to use it at the bench...Some Benchrest shooters mount the scope on a vertical pole that attaches to the side of their bench and once set and adjusted, all they have to do is to swivel their head slightly to see their target...In that case, the angled eye piece gives them a little more room...
People that are acting as 'spotters' for bench shooters seem to be equally divided between comfort of standing and looking straight on, or bending the neck a little and being able to watch other activities while not actually spotting..Some tripods will not give enough elevation to use a straight scope comfortably..
Lining up and focusing the scope with the straight eyepiece usually takes a little less time than an angled one..
