Streamlight Stinger DS LED Light

Does anyone have one of these lights that they use for night hunting for scanning or mounted to their gun for a shooting light? I believe it is a 180 lumen LED light and it is pretty bright light. I already have a red filter flip cap for the front of the light.

I have a couple of questions for anyone that does use this light. If you are using it as a scanning light does the red filter cut down too much on the usable distance of the light?

If anyone is using it as a shooting light where and how do you have it mounted to your gun? Is it as powerful as a Kill Light XLR-250?

I am wondering if it would be possible to replace the white led bulb with a red led bulb and if so would this give you more light than just a red filter over a white light? Could I just take one of the white LED bulbs from streamlight and color it with a red sharpie and have the same effect?

Thanks,
Thomas

I have one I plan on using for a kill light, mounted on a CAA mount on the gas block of my AR.I'm going to keep it white no red filter.Going to scan with a red light and if they show up shoot with the Stinger white light.

Where did you find the flip up filter cap for it? I have a stinger also, but it's the regular bulb instead of the LED. Should be same size housing though.

if you put a red filter on an led it really really dims the light. I use a red filter on my led headlamp I use for scanning.
