Good advice on the 2 year wait: better for them physiologically and "mentally". Some young mothers may not do as good a job caring for their young, some may do just fine... but I agree with waiting for maturity and a quality stud. The pick of the litter/value of the pup is definitely the "understood" standard in most parts. People buy dogs for all reasons, even hunters, and you are more likely to satisfy more people's buying requirements or desires when breeding a dog that is experienced and demonstrated (more than 1 year in the field), shows enthusiasm, develops into ideal conformation/form, and is bred in a discriminating fashion (better bloodlines). If you decide wisely, people will soon come around to your pups! My 2 cents!
